Brief Instructional
When you enter our Vesting Area, find a vest and place it over your head with the phaser in the front. Snap the buckles on the sides and make sure the straps are pulled snug. When your vest is strapped on, reach down and pick up your phaser. Hold the phaser with both hands at all times.
Once the game starts, you can fire your phaser. To do this, hold down one trigger and use the other to fire. You will see a red laser which you can use to aim. Tag your opponents by aiming for the sensors on their vests, which are either red or blue lights. If your sensors are hit by your opponent's laser, your lights will flash and your phaser will be deactivated for 5 seconds. After the 5 seconds are over, you can begin to fire again.
On the back of your phaser is a display that tells you everything you need to know during the game. Most important are your player name and number. Remember at least one of these because you will receive a scorecard at the end of the game. The screen will display your points, rank, and credits. You get 25 points for tagging a player and you lose 5 points for being tagged. You receive 1 credit when you tag an opponent. The screen will also show Energy, Ammo, and Lives, but these aren't important during a basic team game.
You can receive special powers from GEMs (Game Enhancement Modules) by using credits to "buy" them. To do this, tag the triangle of lights on the GEM when you have more credits than the number displayed below the triangle.
Special powers include:
- Rapid Fire
Hold down your trigger and your phaser will fire 20 times every 2 seconds.
- Mega Power
Takes 10 points from your opponent instead of 5.
- Invisibility
Turns off your lights and sound.
You need to be careful around the GEMs because they are can also tag you. If you set off a GEM's motion sensor, there will be a countdown that lasts 3 seconds. If it hits 00, everything inside of a 10-foot radius will be tagged. You can avoid this 3 ways:
- Get out of the GEM's range.
- Get behind a wall or other barrier.
- Tag the triangle before it hits 00.
When your game is over, your screen will read "Game Over." At this time, you should return to the Vesting Area. Please hang up your vest up on the correct number. After you leave the Vesting Area, wait in the designated location and your marshal will bring out scorecards in a few minutes.
Please follow the Mission Honor Code while you are playing:
- I will not run, climb, or jump.
- I will not sit, kneel or lie down.
- I will not cover my targets.
- I will not make physical contact with any other player
(or their equipment).
- I will not use any offensive language.
And remember: play hard, play smart, and have fun!
